Invited Back to Barnegat High School

Rhett Hackett with Barnegat High School HPF was invited back to Barnegat High School this year to take part in the “Tell Us Your Story” program. Invited to speak at the pilot program last year to the junior class, this year, the program expanded to the entire student body and faculty! In two sessions, and over 1,000 students, HPF presented the personal story of co-founder Rhett Hackett and educated on the topic of interpersonal violence prevention in the areas of Child Abuse, Domestic Violence and Bullying! We Brew Up Funds at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant

On August 27th, Humanity Preservation Foundation had its second fundraising event at the Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant in Voorhees New Jersey. Chad Fletcher Sits Down With Oprah

Five years ago, Chad Fletcher, Executive Director of the HPF Michigan Chapter, along with 199 other men, came together and appeared on the ground breaking episode of "200 men who have been sexually abuse" on Oprah. In his next appearance, Mr. Fletcher appeared on the "Where Are They Now" episode.  He discusses where has been, what he has been doing and how his first appearance has impacted his life.  Watch the video below.

Dining For Dollars at Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant

HPF kicked off their first external fundraiser on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Bertucci's Italian Restaurant of Gloucester Township using their "Dining For Dollars Program"  It was as simple as someone coming into the restaurant that night, order food, and 15% of what they spent was donated to the foundation! The turnout for the evening was fantastic and the staff at Bertucci's provided delicious meals, and timely service. Take a look at Chad Fletcher, Executive Director for Michigan HPF Chapter, alongside with Oprah once again! In 2010, the ‘Oprah’ show hosted 200 men, each of whom stood bravely to say that they had been molested as children.  Among their stories was that of Chad who recalled how his own father molested him repeatedly and how, when he finally told other family members, they refused to believe him. Barnegat Rotary Invites HPF to Speak

The Humanity Preservation Foundation was honored to be able to present to the Barnegat Rotary Club at their weekly meeting on April 27, 2015.  Both Development Associate, Zachary Weintraut and President Rhett Hackett presented to the group.  The presentation was timely as it coincided with Child Abuse Awareness month.  The presentation consisted of discussing the stats of children being sexually assaulted combined with the affects that both domestic violence and bullying have on children. A sexual assault can happen anywhere and at any height!

In-flight sexual assaults are vastly under-reported, with victims often too embarrassed or afraid to speak up, authorities say. Dana LaRue says she was a victim of sexual assault at 32,000 feet, alleging that she awoke on her flight to find a fellow passenger  inappropriately touching her leg, and later her chest. “I knew in my head I should scream, I should yell, I should do something, but I couldn’t get my body to react,” LaRue said.
