Take a look at Chad Fletcher, Executive Director for Michigan HPF Chapter, alongside with Oprah once again! In 2010, the ‘Oprah’ show hosted 200 men, each of whom stood bravely to say that they had been molested as children. Among their stories was that of Chad who recalled how his own father molested him repeatedly and how, when he finally told other family members, they refused to believe him. Now, Oprah sits down one-on-one with Fletcher, who talks openly about his overcoming the abuse, and how he continues to heal, plus other updates from men who bravely came forward. Barnegat Rotary Invites HPF to Speak
The Humanity Preservation Foundation was honored to be able to present to the Barnegat Rotary Club at their weekly meeting on April 27, 2015. Both Development Associate, Zachary Weintraut and President Rhett Hackett presented to the group. The presentation was timely as it coincided with Child Abuse Awareness month. The presentation consisted of discussing the stats of children being sexually assaulted combined with the affects that both domestic violence and bullying have on children. The main message was that in order to protect our children we need to be able to educate them on the topic of abuse so that they know what to do should they find themselves in an unsafe situation. It is a powerful moment when you have a club such as the Rotary supporting your efforts and taking interest in what you do so that you can better the community!
